Who we are
POEV helps people buy a used electric car without overpaying. Send us a listing, get an honest answer. Free, no ads, nothing for sale.
What we do
You send the link to a listing. We tell you which battery version that car actually has, how much range it realistically has left, what the warranty covers on that exact car, whether recall campaigns apply to it, and whether the asking price makes sense next to comparable cars.
We also publish a free catalogue of new electric and plug-in hybrid cars, so you can see what a model looks like new before you judge a used one.
What we deliberately do not do
- We never touch the car. There is no dongle, no plug-in device, no physical measurement, no laboratory.
- We do not issue certificates and we are not a substitute for one. If you want a measured battery certificate, buy one from a company that physically tests the car — we will say so plainly rather than pretend our estimate is the same thing.
- We do not sell cars, we do not broker them, and we take no money from sellers, dealers or manufacturers. Nobody can pay to change a verdict or to appear in the catalogue. If that ever changes, this page will say so before anything else does.
How honest our numbers are
Battery condition is given as a range for a group of similar cars — a band typically about 4–7 percentage points wide, not a single number for your specific car. Anyone who gives you one exact number without measuring the car is guessing.
We keep a record of how every number was produced, so an answer we gave months ago can still be checked. Facts we could not verify are marked as unverified rather than filled in.
If you find a mistake, write to us and we will correct it and say what changed.
Who runs it
POEV is a small independent project, not a company with a sales team. It is run by one person together with AI systems that do the research, the calculations and most of the writing. We say this openly because you should know how the answer you get was produced.
We are based in Europe and work across it: the catalogue and the verdicts cover the European market rather than one country.
