Tesla Model X 90D
Our conclusion
With reservations — clear these up with the questions for the seller before moving any money:
- minor listing inconsistencies to clarify
Before you make an offer, bear in mind:
- the car's general warranty has already ended (our estimate), and a private seller can only be held to what the law sets
- we don't know whether €29,000 is a good price: compare it with similar listings yourself (see the price section) before offering yours

Battery
- Battery version
- NCA · 85.8 kWh gross · 81.8 kWh usable
- How we identified it
- first registration 2016 is inside this version's window (Jun 2016 – Mar 2018); the listing's power is equivalent to 386 kW and matches
- POEV Battery Estimate
- 77–87% of capacity — an estimate, not a measurement (9.8–10.7 years, 158,000 km; data confidence: medium)
- Battery certificate
- not in the listing — ask for one
- Hot region
- batteries age faster in the heat — the estimate allows for it

Minor inconsistencies in the listing (check, don't panic):
- The listing URL says «2017», the ficha técnica (Spanish vehicle technical card) says 2016 — ask for the exact first-registration date (the battery warranty has expired either way: in 2024 if it is from 2016, in 2025 if from 2017)
- The listing puts the «Legacy» extras at «+15.000 €» (+€15,000) — a sales argument, not a verifiable market value; the «de por vida» (for-life) benefits (Supercharging SC01, FSD, Premium Connectivity) must be verified by VIN BEFORE paying: Tesla has removed them on resold cars
Real range
- Range
- not estimated — our reference holds only unverified figures for this version
Warranties
- Battery warranty
- 8 years / no km limit — ran until 2024
- Without it
- any battery fault is yours to pay — a measurement before buying is the only protection left
- General warranty (Tesla)
- 4 years / 80,000 km (our estimate: terms in force since 8 Jul 2024) — ran until around 2020
- Private seller, under Spanish law
- at least for hidden defects, claim within 6 months of handover; more only if the contract says so
Recall campaigns
- Battery and charging campaigns
- none found; checked: NHTSA (USA)
- Spanish recall register
- not searched — the DGT report shows this car's pending recalls
Does the price make sense?
- Asking price
- €29,000
- Market price
- unknown yet — 0 similar listings in our database, we need 3
- Check the market yourself
- Tesla Model X, version “90D”, first registered 2015–2017, 138,000–178,000 km, on coches.net, milanuncios.com, wallapop.com or autoscout24.es — compare cash prices
Arguments for negotiating:
- No battery certificate
- −€600 … −€400
- Private seller
- by law answers for less than a dealer — a reason to pay less than dealer prices
Cost at your door
- Where the car is
- Canary Islands
- Where you live
- Mainland Spain
- Not every tax yet
- some of your country's taxes are not calculated; lines marked as estimates are not verified
- Transfer tax (ITP), if a private person sells
- €0–2,320 (0–8% or a flat fee depending on your region; estimate, not verified)
- ITP rate
- depends on your region — 0% to 8% for this car
- Tax base
- the price paid or the tax office's valuation table, whichever is higher — it may come to more
- Customs (DUA) + VAT 21% of the car's value
- €6,090
- Transport (ferry / truck)
- €250–€1,300
- DGT transfer fees
- €64–€65
- Paperwork agency (gestoría)
- €100–€300 (estimate, not verified)
- Registration tax (IEDMT)
- 0% for electric cars
What to ask the seller
- Can you send a photo of the technical data sheet (ficha técnica) or the certificate of conformity (COC)? I want to check the power: the ad's figure is equivalent to 386 kW, but portals often fill that in from their catalogue, and it's the figure that tells which battery the car has.
- Do you have a battery certificate (Aviloo, official workshop)? Can you send the link/QR of the digital certificate?
- Can you send a photo of the battery screen charged to 100% with the estimated km?
- Which service campaigns have been applied? And the maintenance invoices?
Before you pay anything:
- DGT report (€8.67)
- order the informe completo with the plate or VIN — keepers, ITV and mileage, pending recalls, seizures; a «reserva de dominio» blocks the transfer
- VIN
- ask for it before the viewing; check it matches on the car, the permiso de circulación, the ficha técnica and the DGT report, and ask a main dealer of the brand whether any campaign is pending on it
- Deposit (señal)
- only in writing — VIN, price and a full refund if the battery test or the DGT report is bad
- Private sale
- pay only the keeper named on the permiso de circulación, by transfer to their account, with a contract naming the VIN; then 30 days for the DGT transfer, with the ITP return filed first
- Tesla account
- on the day of the sale the seller removes the car from their account in front of you
- FSD, Enhanced Autopilot, free Supercharging
- may not pass to you — ask Tesla with the VIN before paying for them
