Volkswagen ID.3 Pro 58 kWh

2023 · 7,000 km · €26,900 · Gipuzkoa

Our conclusion

With reservations — clear these up with the questions for the seller before moving any money:

  • a battery campaign may cover this car — confirm with the VIN
  • battery version unconfirmed (affects range and price)
  • minor listing inconsistencies to clarify

Before you make an offer, bear in mind:

  • we don't know whether €26,900 is a good price: compare it with similar listings yourself (see the price section) before offering yours

Battery

Battery version
58 kWh usable — which of the versions below can't be told from the listing
POEV Battery Estimate
89–99% of capacity — an estimate, not a measurement (2.6–3.5 years, 7,000 km; data confidence: medium)
Battery certificate
not in the listing — ask for one

Candidates and how to tell them apart:

ID.3 Pro Performance
58 kWh usable · NMC · 150 kW · Sep 2020 – Aug 2023. 150 kW (204 hp) + 58 kWh. "1st Edition" = this version, first registration from 09.2020. Ask: software version (ideally 3.x), heat pump presence.
ID.3 Pro
58 kWh usable · NMC · 150 kW · Mar 2023 – Sep 2024. 150 kW + 58 kWh + restyled body (first registration from ~06.2023): new front bumper, 12" screen, updated interior materials.

Minor inconsistencies in the listing (check, don't panic):

  • The listing URL says «2024», the spec sheet says 2023 — ask for the EXACT first-registration date (it moves a year of battery warranty)
  • The dealer's listing warns: «los datos del vehículo… no son vinculantes» (the vehicle data… are not binding) — confirm km and equipment in writing

Real range

Adjusted to the estimated state, not WLTP
Where the figures come from
official WLTP 427 km, brought to summer and to the estimated battery capacity

Warranties

Battery warranty
8 years / 160,000 km / at least 70% of capacity — about 153,000 km or until 2031 left, whichever comes first
Business seller, under Spanish law (buying for private use)
3 years for defects present at handover (for a used car the contract may cut it to 1 year); in the first 2 years (or the shorter agreed period) a defect is presumed to have been there at handover

Recall campaigns

Battery and charging campaigns
KBA 16271R — part of the production of one of the possible versions is covered; check the VIN with a main dealer or on the brand's portal whether it applies and was done
Spanish recall register
not searched — the DGT report shows this car's pending recalls

Does the price make sense?

Asking price
€26,900
Cash or financed
not stated — ask in writing whether €26,900 holds without the dealer's loan; until then we count from €26,900
Market price

Arguments for negotiating:

No battery certificate
−€600 … −€400

Cost at your door

Tax area
the same — no border formalities, no import tax
Transfer tax (ITP)
none — you buy from a business; the price must include VAT (if it says «IVA no incluido», ask for the final price)
DGT fee for the change of ownership
€55.70

What to ask the seller

  1. Which service campaigns have been applied? And the maintenance invoices?
  2. Can you send a photo of the registration certificate (permiso de circulación) and the technical data sheet (ficha técnica), or the certificate of conformity (COC)? The first registration date and the power tell which battery it has.
  3. Do you have a battery certificate (Aviloo, official workshop)? Can you send the link/QR of the digital certificate?
  4. Once the campaign is confirmed done for this VIN, can you send a photo of the dashboard after a full charge, showing the estimated range?
  5. Is €26,900 the cash price, or does it only apply with financing? What is the price if I pay in cash?

Before you pay anything:

DGT report (€8.67)
order the informe completo with the plate or VIN — keepers, ITV and mileage, pending recalls, seizures; a «reserva de dominio» blocks the transfer
VIN
ask for it before the viewing; check it matches on the car, the permiso de circulación, the ficha técnica and the DGT report, and ask a main dealer of the brand whether any campaign is pending on it
Deposit (señal)
only in writing — VIN, price and a full refund if the battery test or the DGT report is bad
Business sale
before any deposit, get in writing the warranty (cover, length, cap per repair) and the final price with every fee
